This is a way better than average flat iron by Cortex. The new and upgraded heat for this line makes the iron such a wonderful product. 450F is definitely the way to go. Makes things faster and also keeps my hair straight for longer i realize! Now the decision is up to you whether you want to go for Titanium or Ceramic plates. I've heard some professionals liking ceramic more and some titanium more. For myself, I chose the ceramic because it's what I've always been using.

I especially like the plates for this straightener because it goes through my hair as if I just conditioned it at a salon. Feels very good when I don't ever come close to yanking my hair. So my recommendation is that you can style at ease with this cortex straightener, and also the tourmaline ceramic plates are incredible!

My favorite flat iron better than any other brands May 3, 2010

I prefer dual tourmaline ceramic flat irons over titanium. Mainly because I think it makes my hair more smooth, and it the plate surface is more smooth as well. So I got this cortex hair straightener. It's part of the new solo 450 line and it's a LOT better than the previous line. Mainly the new improved heat is the best attraction. Besides the heat, I feel that the way it glides on my hair is much more concise than the older cortex too. By that I mean, I never have to go through same sections twice. The balanced heat on the plate makes the glide so even. It's great!

Can't stop using this all the time now! I'm obsessed, LOL. Loving the feeling after using this cortex flat iron. Smooths out my rough, thick, curly hair. I feel like a different person after using this. The feeling is just so stunning. Can't say anymore now, can I? :)
